Extra Content
Are You Ready For "Extra Content"

I believe that we have entered into a new era of theme development for RapidWeaver. Over the last few years the theme development community has done a pretty good job of pushing the boundaries of a RapidWeaver theme just about as far as they could possibly go, but the end users wanted more. More places to hold content, more places for images, more places for that html, more, more, more.
So a few of us developers began talking about how we could realistically offer users "more" in a stylish, standards compliant way. After a few days of discussions and testing we finally settled on using the power of the Snippet and a little bit of jQuery "no conflict". We chose to call this new feature "ExtraContent"
Now for the first time in RW history users will have the ability to add content to areas of themes that have not yet been possible. I am certain that more developers will pick up on this as time goes by, but for now there are only a few themes that offer this freedom. (actually, as of today there are only 3).
In case you are wondering ... the other developers are Adam Merrifield from seyDesign and Giuseppe Caruso from (((Bonsai Studio))).
You can get a look at the "ExtraContent" containers in action by viewing this video that I created demonstrating how it all works.
